Trust Tap

Trust Tap is a way for people to ride RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) safely.

Riders feel more secure on the bus when they know about their bus driver. Trust Tap allows commuters to see and read about the driver of the bus they will be taking. It also provides an overall rating of the bus driver and allows you, as a rider, to provide a rating as well.

It allows people to see which bus to take to their destination as well as a live update on the location of the desired bus.

Moving Forward

Next steps: It is important to figure out what happens once the emergency button is pressed and the passenger sends for help.

Does an ambulance come only when the hurt sign is pressed?

Does the driver pull over?

Are others notified?

Different approach: Perhaps building a sense of community within the bus would help people feel safe as well.

Is there a way that people can remain anonymous?

Would people feel comfortable connecting with strangers on the bus?

Extension: Perhaps the idea could live as an extension of google maps.

Would this be a good idea since google maps is already the go-to for way finding?
